Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has started selling its essential commodities through family cards in Jhenaidah district.
Deputy commissioner (DC) in Jhenaidah SM Rafiqul Islam inaugurated the selling as chief guest at Jhenaidah Shishu Academy premises on Wednesday morning.
A total of 120,133 fami0lies will receive the commodities at a subsidized rate marking the Eid Ul Azha.
Presided over by upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Sadiya Jarin in the chair, district information officer (DIO) Abu Bakar Siddiqqque, Children affairs officer Ayub Hossain, Jhenaidah Sadar police station officer in charge (OC) Sheikh Sohel Rana, TCB assistant director Atiqur Rahman and Jhenaidah municipality councilor Arefin Kaiser attended as special guests.
TCB sources said a total of 120,133 families will receive the essential goods until before the Eid Ul Azha in six upazilas of the district. They will avail two kilograms of lentil and two litres of soyabean oil at Taka 340 in each consignment with family cards.
