The government on Friday formed a special taskforce to ensure smooth health screening of inbound passengers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka. Led by HSIA Director Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, the special taskforce, comprising in several groups, will continue operation round the clock at the airport, sources at Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) said. Each group will be comprised of 20 Ansar members, five supervisors and two inspectors, Touhid said.
So far, three thermal scanners at HSIA became dysfunctional due to mismanagement and pressure of the incoming passengers over the last week, according to the airport sources.
