Talents should make proper use of ICT: CU VC

Chittagong University VC Dr. Shirin Akhtar said, ‘Safe Internet and ICT technology should be used properly, in order to be able to present oneself with the developed world. It will be helpful in the fair development of talented people through safe technology’.

A discussion meeting was held on the initiative of Chittagong University Statistics Department on 'Use of Safe Internet and ICT Technology'.

 The discussion meeting was held at CU Statistics Department on Thursday afternoon.  Chairman (Senior Secretary) Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission Shyam Sundar Sikder was present as the chief guest and discussant.  The meeting was inaugurated by Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar and CU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Benu Kumar Dey was present as a special guest.  Chaired by CU Statistics Department President Prof. Md. Roknuzzaman (Azad) and moderated by Associate Prof. Mohammad Moniruzzaman Bhuya, Dean of CU Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasim Hasan, former GM of Bangladesh Bank Md. Abu Musa, former member of NBR Dr. Mahbubur spoke on the occasion.  Rahman Azad and Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd. Deputy Manager Engineer Md. Liaquat Ali.  Professor Md. Emdadul Haque of CU Statistics Department delivered the welcome address on the occasion.

Chairman (Senior Secretary) Shyam Sundar Sikdar of CU VC Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission in the discussion meeting wrote his 'Bangabandhu and Agartala case;  Presented a book entitled 'New direction of history'.  On behalf of the CU Statistics Department, CU VC presented the crest of honour to the Chief Guest on the occasion.

It is to be mentioned that Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission Chairman (Senior Secretary) Shyam Sundar Sikder provided 20 laptops for the computer lab of CU Statistics Department.  The discussion meeting was attended by respected teachers, students and well-wishers of CU Statistics Department.
