Rangpur Metropolitan Police ( RPMP) Commissioner Md Moniruzzaman on Thursday urged solvent people to take responsibility of at least one under privileged child.
He made this remarks while addressing a inauguration event of a new branch of Zoom Bangladesh School in association with Punak Rangpur unit and RPMP on Thursday.
He said , “Come forward for the underprivileged in the society.”
He further said, “We as human being have no chance of being blind to our surroundings.”
He thanked Zoom Bangladesh and their volunteers who gained the trust of the people of the area.
45 children have been registered so far to study in the new school of Zoom Bangladesh.
He said, “ Currently 550 to 600 underprivileged students are studying and more than 10 thousand students have already passed out from the school.” He recalled that former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam was also a street child. He was a hawker. He used to sell newspapers. His mother also worked as domestic help. But he later became the President of India. So we don't know a child who was born in a slum and will not be great man in future .
For this purpose, Zoom Bangladesh and Punak are coming together on one platform to start schools for the underprivileged, he continued.
He urged all to participate in this work and to take responsibility of at least one underprivileged street child.
RPMP head Md. Moniruzzaman was present as the chief guest.
Nasima Sultana, Rangpur unit president of . Punak, RPMP Additional Commissioner Uttam Kumar Pal, DCs Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, Kazi Muttaki Ibnu Minan, Md. Abu Maruf Hossain, Md. Menhazul Alam, members of Zoom Bangladesh and other RPMP senior officers, local dignitaries and underprivileged street children and their guardians were also present.
