‘Take action against gamblers’

Chattogram city Awami League General Secretary and Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) AJM Nasir Uddin called upon the police to find out those involved in drug and gambling business. He told the Awami League leaders and activists, "We will not knowingly associate ourselves with any wrongdoing. Do not engage in terrorism, militancy, drugs and corruption in any way.’’

AJM Nasir Uddin said these while addressing as chief guest at the a prize distribution programme among the winners of the quiz competition organized by the City Corporation on the 73rd birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Engineers' Institution Auditorium on Saturday. CCC’s acting chief executive officer Mohammad Abu Shahid Chowdhury presided over the function. Panel Mayor Chowdhury Hasan Mahmood Hasani and CCC Chief Education Officer Suman Barua attended the meeting, among others.

The competition was held on September 26 at 215 educational institutions in the city. For the competition, 1 lakh booklets on Sheikh Hasina's life philosophy were distributed. A total of 70,000 students participated in this competition. The top five students are selected from each school and college. As a result, 645 students from 215 educational institutions were selected and given prizes.
