The Syrian Arab Republic is set to enhance and deepen cooperation with Turkmenistan, Syrian President Bashar
Assad said in a message of greetings to the Central Asian country on the 31st anniversary of its independence.
"On the basis of the existing friendly relations between Syria and
Turkmenistan, we intend to enhance and deepen bilateral cooperation and propel it to a new level in the interests of our peoples," the Neytralnyy Turkmenistan (Neutral Turkmenistan) newspaper quoted Assad as saying in his message on Monday.
Turkmenistan celebrated the 31st anniversary of its independence on September 27.
