Inter-Department Volleyball Competition 2023 of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) started at the University handball ground on Thursday at 3pm.
A total of 28 men’s teams and 21 women’s teams from 28 departmentsare participating in the competition.
Business Administration(BBA) and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering(CEE) faced each other in the opening match following the inaugural ceremony.
Md Kabir Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST)inauguratedthe competition as the chief guest.
MdKabir Hossain while addressing in the opening ceremony said, “The university administration supports the students with organizing different sports events throughout the year. Because the university administration believes that sports play a vital role in keeping the mind fresh and the sound body. Sports keep our mind happy. So, love the sports means love yourself. He requested everyone to complete the competition maintaining a friendly atmosphere and sportsmanship manner.
In the inaugural ceremony, University Treasurer Prof. Amina Parveen, Director of Physical Education Saud bin Ambia Dean of School of Life Sciences Faculty Professor. Md. Kamrul Islam, director of student counseling and sports sub-committee president Professor Md. RashedTalukder, Director of SUST Research Center Professor Md. Saiful Islam, Medical Administrator Professor Asif Iqbal, Proctor Professor Md. Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, Registrar (Acting) Md. Fazlur Rahman along with teachers of various departments, heads of departments, officers and employees attended the program among others.
