Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) formed a human chain in Sunamganj on Saturday protesting the continued violence against Muslims in India's capital Delhi. The hour-long human chain was formed at Alfat Uddin Square in the district town. General secretary of Sunamganj district CPB Advocate Enam Ahmed moderated the programme, while it was addressed, among others, by district president of the party Comrade Chittaranjan Talukder, Romendra Dey Mintu, Abu Taher and Mainuddin Ahmed.

The speakers called upon the government to cancel the invitation  to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the birth centenary programme of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

They said that Narendra Modi’s hands are stained with blood. He is a communal leader.

His presence in the Mujib Barsho programme is not acceptable, they said.

They further said that if the government fails to withdraw the invitation, the leftist parties would resist Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Dhaka at any cost.

After the human chain, a mourning procession was brought out in the district town.
