Duronto Dhaka’s coach Khaled Mahmud Sujon on Sunday admitted that his side is not a strong one but has the capability to make it to the knockout stage.

Dhaka is one of the weakest teams in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T-20 this season. Once upon a time, the team was a very strong and hot favorite in the franchise-based cricket tournament. They clinched the trophy three times. However, now the team lost its golden days.

Although, the team has top-class pace bowlers like Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam. A few foreign star cricketers were included in the team.

Durdanto Dhaka practiced at Sher-e-Bagngal National Stadium, Mirpur, at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. During the session with the Duronto Dhaka cricketers, coach Sujon expressed his views on the team's prospects in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

“Whenever a team is formed, it is built with certain goals in mind. Our target is to become Champions. Being realistic, we definitely have the ability to reach the Super Four. Being in the top four is important. It requires luck to become a champion. The first goal is to go to the semi-final stage,” Sujon told the media.

Despite the lack of big names, Sujon is excited about the challenge he said is relishing the upcoming challenge and stated he loves to lead such a crew.

He believes that the team's challenge will be greater because they have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

"Of course, this is a big challenge for me. Since we don't have a name, on paper everyone will say our team falls on number 6/7. It would be a pleasure to work with such a team. Our challenge will be more. Because we have no fear to lose. Whatever we can do is what we get. I don't believe we don’t have the ability. We have the ability but no name,” he added.

No famous cricketer is in Durdanto Dhaka team. Sujon looks at it is a big challenge for the team. However, it can also work as a plus point as most of the time they will come into the field as underdogs, therefore they will have less pressure.    The 10th edition of the franchise-based cricket tournament, organised by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will commence on January 19.
