A Dhaka court on Wednesday granted an 8-day remand for top-listed criminal Subrata Bain alias Fateh Ali in a case filed under the Arms Act with Hatirjheel Police Station.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zakir Hossain passed the order after a hearing.
The court also granted a 6-day remand for three other arrestees in the same case—Abu Rasel Masud alias Molla Masud, Arafat Ibn Nasir alias Shooter Arafat, and M.A.S. Sharif.
On Wednesday, the investigation officer, Sub-Inspector Riad Ahmed of Hatirjheel Police Station, produced the four accused in court and sought a 10-day remand for each to ensure proper investigation.
Earlier, around 5:00 AM on Tuesday, the Bangladesh Army, in a special operation, arrested Subrata Bain and his close associate Molla Masud from Kushtia district. Based on their information, two more associates Shooter Arafat and Sharif were arrested later from Dhaka’s Hatirjheel area. Following their arrest, a case was filed against them under the Arms Act.
