Students held a demonstration and rally under the banner of anti-discrimination student movement in Satkhira on Saturday.

They gathered at the Khulna Road intersection in the district town at 11:00am and brought out a protest procession from there. The protest procession went to Narkeltala crossing and Newmarket areas, and returned to Khulna Road intersection again.

Meanwhile, they declared Khulna Road intersection as Shaheed Asif Chattor in the name of Asif Hasan of Askarpur village under Debhata upazila in Satkhira district. Asif died in Dhaka during the quota reform movement.

In the protest procession, they chanted anti-government slogans such as 'My brother's blood, I will not let it go in vain', 'Students want justice for our brother's murder'. In addition to the students, their parents, women and men of different ages participated in the protest.

Meanwhile, a large number of law enforcement agencies, including police, BGB and RAB, were seen patrolling in Satkhira town to avoid any kind of sabotage.
