Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel said that students should develop their skills with good results.
He said that in order to be self-reliant and self-reliant, one has to take training in various subjects. You have to be proficient in any subject. There is no alternative to the trained population to take the country's economy forward. Certificate based education is not worth it. So everyone has to take skill training.
He said this while addressing a function at Chattogram Zila Parishad on Friday morning.
He said huge investments were being made in the education sector during the tenure of the present government, adding that the government was carrying out massive development works across the country. Roads and bridges will not have to be invested much in the future. Investment will be in education and health. In the meantime, under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, more than 300 companies of the country have been registered for MPO in a span of one year, which is a milestone for the country. Nowfel said the development activities of Chattogram Zila Parishad have reached the remote areas of the villages. Development work has been done in Chattogram district. All this is possible under the able leadership of MA Salam, Administrator of Chattogram Zila Parishad and a clean politician. Scholarship is a means of motivation in education and recognition of success. Chattogram Zila Parishad has been doing year, after year. The job that will be the first boy is not right. We have to focus on various professions for employment as well as education. Meritorious students abroad are trained in various trades for workplace skills. So the government is establishing technical colleges in every upazilas. All the successful people in the world are experienced in various fields.

Welcoming remarks were made by Shabbir Iqbal, Chief Executive Officer (Deputy Secretary) of Chattogram Zila Parishad. MA Salam, Administrator of Zila Parishad, said that although there is an alternative to everything, there is no alternative to education. There is a difference between being well educated and being educated. Everyone should be well educated and enlightened. No nation or country can move forward without a morally educated people. So everyone has to be moral and change their attitude. Scholarships are being given to the students at the initiative of Chattogram Zila Parishad to inspire them to be well educated. Besides, we need to know the correct and true history of the country with love. He also called upon all to play a role in the development of the country inspired by patriotism.
Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad, Shabbir Iqbal said the scholarships would be provided to 274 indigent and meritorious students of various universities, colleges and madrasas in the district under the budget for the fiscal year 2020-21. This time 10 thousand rupees is being given to each student at university level and 8 thousand rupees per student at college and madrasa level. A total of 5,531 people were given scholarships in different upazilas of Chattogram in the last 10 years.
