Students demand consideration of CU admission process

The students, who took part in admission test of 2019-20 academic session, formed a human chain on Chittagong University campus on Monday demanding their admission. These applicants secured their position in this years’ admission test but they have been marked unfit according to the admission circulars’ direction and the university authority now denies admitting them. The protesters submitted a letter to the Vice Chancellor and the Proctor.

Imam Hossain Hridoy, one of the protesters, said the the admission circular didn’t clarify about our application and when we applied they let us participate in the admission test but after the result published the authority is now saying they won’t admit us. The placards from the protest said: “We’re here to admit by our merit, not to cry”, “No value for our talent, hard work, time and money?”, “Admit us or grave us at CU” and so on.

The protesters declared to continue their protest until their demands were  fulfilled or the university authority gives them any solution. CU acting proctor Pranab Mitra told Bangladesh Post   “We told the protesters to  submit their demand letter with proper documents and our officials involved  with the admission process will consider their demands”.
