The open "Ideal Mathematics Olympiad 2025" was held in Sreepur, Gazipur, under the slogan "Learn Math, Dream Big." Organized by the Sreepur Ideal Public School and College, the event took place on Friday morning with the goal of developing students' logical reasoning, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

The ceremony was inaugurated by the founder and chairman of the institution, Md. Habibur Rahman. Special guests in attendance included Faridun Ferdous, a journalist and writer from Maasranga Television; Masud Rana, Gazipur correspondent for Prothom Alo; writer and teacher Amulya Sarker; and S. Ram Prasad Barman, the administrative officer of Ideal School and College. The event was hosted by the institution's assistant headteacher, Abdul G. Bareq Tareq.

Nearly 600 students from various schools in the upazila participated in the Olympiad, which featured competitions in three categories: Primary, Junior, and Senior.

As a special guest, Prothom Alo's Gazipur district correspondent, Masud Rana, said, "Prothom Alo has always encouraged students' talents, creativity, and positive competition. Such mathematics Olympiads play a vital role in developing students' thinking skills. You can participate in the mathematics Olympiad organized by Prothom Alo in the future, and I will provide my utmost support to ensure you have the opportunity to do so."

Special guest journalist and writer Faridun Ferdous said, "Mathematics is not just about addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; it is an exercise for the mind. Just as we exercise our bodies, practicing math is exercising the brain. Every problem is a puzzle, and every solution is a victory. Overcoming students' fear of math will be the greatest achievement."

The founder and chairman of the institution, Md. Habibur Rahman, said, "Such creative and competitive events will help eliminate students' fear of mathematics and expand their thinking and logical reasoning. We want every student to love math and make it a part of their lives." He added, "There is a plan to expand this event on a larger scale to the district and divisional levels in the future so that more students can participate. These initiatives will increase students' interest and love for mathematics and inspire the next generation towards building a knowledge-based society."
