A female student of Chuadanga Collectorate School and College was committed suicide by hanging with a fan in reading room at village Daulatdiar in Sadar upazila of Chuadanga district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Chunni Khatun,15, daughter of Chand Ali of village Daulatdiar village in Sadar Upazila of the district. She was a Class Nine student of Chuadanga Collectorate School and College.
According to local sources, Chunni Khatun had a quarrel with her mother at the night on an internal issue. Later, she hanged herself with a fan in her reading room.
On hue and cry of the family members locals rushed to the spot, rescued and sent to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where on duty medical officer Dr. Morshed Alam declared her dead.
A member of Alukdia Union Parishad, Ward No. 8 in sadar upazila Tosharef Hossain said, the girl hanged herself while reading at home. No one scolded her. The exact reason for suicide is not known immediately.
Duty officer of Chuadanga police station Mr. Mamun said, a General Dairy has been filed about incident. The family members said, the girl was mentally unstable.
The senior officials of police are taking steps into the matter.
Medical Officer of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital Dr. Morshed Alam said, the family members brought Chunni Khatun to the hospital, after examining it was found dead.
The body has been sent to the morgue.
It may be mentioned, the exact reason for Chunni Khatun's suicide is not known. Knowledgeable that the correct information will come out in the police investigation.
