Tamanna Akhter, wife of an expatriate of Zakiganj in Sylhet, got involved in a strange love story. She was missing for 7 days. She was finally rescued from Atgram in Zakiganj on Friday evening.
Tamanna Akhter is the wife of Oman expatriate Shafiqur Rahman of Morairatal village in Atgram of Zakiganj. Shafiq and Tamanna got married in 2016.
A few days after the marriage, Shafiq left his wife Tamanna Akhter at home and moved to Oman. About three years ago she was introduced to Asad Uddin, a Dubai expatriate from Kamalpur village in Zakiganj, through mobile phone app Imo. That led to a love affair. Despite being in an affair, the two never met in person.
Tamanna Akhter came to Golapganj Chaumuhani with her younger brother Mizanur Rahman Mizan on Sunday afternoon. Mizan left his sister Tamanna in front of the pharmacy to fetch water.
After a while he came back and saw that his sister was not there. He informed the family about the matter. Later on Monday, he went to Golapganj police station and made a general diary that his sister was missing.
On Friday afternoon, Tamanna was going to her father's house in Mohammadpur, Manikpur, in a CNG autorickshaw with two relatives of her expatriate love Asad. At that time Zakiganj police rescued her from the area near Ratanpur. She was taken to Zakiganj police station at night.
At the time, Tamanna said, “I was introduced to Asad from Dubai about three years ago through Imo. From then on, a love affair developed between us. Asad used to call me all the time. We talked on the phone. Asad is also married. However, he does not have a relationship with his wife at home. That is why he will divorce his wife and then marry me.”
Tamanna said, “As I said, on the day of the incident, when I went in front of the pharmacy, Asad's relatives brought a car there. When my brother Mizan went to fetch water, I left with them.”
Meanwhile, the family members of her husband's house and father's house were angry over the incident. Their claim is that Tamanna has been forcibly abducted. Golapganj Police Station OC Abul Kashem said it was a relief that Tamanna had been rescued. Now action will be taken according to the law.
