He is known as a voracious raw brinjal eater and he can consume three to four kilograms of raw brinjal by sitting at a place daily.
The brinjal eater has been identified as Abdul Gaffar son of late Abdul Jabber of Nandanpur village under Bhalukgachhi union of Puthia upazila. He is a van puller by profession. For the last three decades, he has been dealing in vegetables and carries veggies on his van from one place to another.
Abdul Gaffar said, at first he used to consume one or two raw brinjal out of curiosity.
Now he can consume three to four kilograms of raw brinjal at a time and he feels no physical trouble for consuming these raw brinjals.
Local people, however, named him ‘Begun Khadak’ ( voracious brinjal eater).
Abdul Gaffar informed the raw brinjal tastes better than any other fruit to him. He further mentioned he feels no physical trouble after eating the brinjal. He said earlier he used to eat one or two brinjals out of fancy but nowadays, he consumes three to four kilogrammes of brinjal at a time, otherwise, he is not satisfied.
He further said he prefers eating round-shaped, red (violet) brinjal than any other varieties.
