Police have rescued a child who was stolen from Mamata maternity clinic in Chattogram EPZ area. Three people including husband and wife have been arrested for their involvement in the incident.
The child was rescued from Anwara on Tuesday morning.
EPZ Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Karim confirmed the matter and said that the newborn who was stolen from the EPZ area maternity clinic was recovered from Anwara. 3 people including a couple have been arrested for their involvement in this incident. The three people who were initially arrested said the couple stole the child to raise. The incident is being investigated.
Earlier, a one-year-old new-born was stolen from Mamata Maternity on Sunday around 3 pm. The new-born is the child of Shahid and Tasmin Akhtar of Anwara Upazila of Chattogram city. The baby was born last Friday night.
A team of Thana police under the leadership of OC Abdul Karim of EPZ police station rescued the child from East Barkhain area of Anwara upazila on Tuesday morning. The garment worker was also arrested.
