State Minister Enam’s mother passes away

Shiriya Khanam, mother of State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman, passed away on Wednesday afternoon. She was 84.  

Dr. Shamim Ahmed, APS to the state minister, confirmed the matter to The Bangladesh Post. 

Shamim Ahmed said that Shiriya Khanam had been suffering from old-age complications for last few days. She breathed her last around 4:00pm at Enam Medical College and Hospital in Savar. She left behind three sons, two daughters, a host of relatives and admirers at the time of her death. 

Shiriya Khanam was scheduled to be buried at Talbag graveyard fter Esha prayers following Namaz-e-Janaza.  

President of Savar Press Club Nazmus Sakib and General Secretary Gobinda Acharya expressed deep shock at the death of Shiriya Khanam on behalf of Savar Press Club and local journalists. 

They prayed for salvation of the departed soul. 

Hazi Abdul Gani, Mayor of Savar municipality, Manjurul Alam Razib, Chairman of Savar Upazila Parishad, and others leaders of Bangladesh Awami League and its affiliate organisations also expressed deep shock at her death.
