Stabilization of ‘National Service’ jobs demanded

A human chain was formed demanding job security in the government's pilot project 'National Service', organised by Bangladesh National Service Ekta Kalyan Parishad in front of Rangpur Press Club on Sunday.

Speakers at the human chain said the National Service Pilot Project was launched in 2009 to address the problem of educated unemployment by the government.

Victims said we joined the National Service, instead of hoping for another job. But after two years the project was closed down. As a result, 2 lakh 38 thousand employees of the project became unemployed and are living a dehumanized life.

After the programme, they handed over a memorandum to the Prime Minister through Rangpur Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner.
