An SSC examinee reportedly committed suicide at Bongshal area in the capital in the early hours on Tuesday after failing to secure desired marks in the examination.
The deceased was identified as Mithila, daughter of Mostafa Kamal.
Quoting victim’s family, police said that she was frustrated with her SSC result. At midnight, Mithila hanged herself from the ceiling of the house. She was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital but doctors pronounced her dead around 2:30am, said Bacchu Mia, inspector of DMCH police camp.
