An SSC candidate named Supti Khatun (16) committed suicide by hanging herself in Santhia, Pabna. She is the daughter of late Saiful Islam of Bhato Sonatala village in Nagdemra union of the upazila. This incident happened on Monday (February 26) around 09:00.
According to family sources, Supti participated in the current SSC examination from Sonatala High School of the upazila and has already completed five subject tests. On Tuesday (February 27), the exam on Islam and moral education was scheduled. But she was suffering from stomach pain for a long time. Unable to bear the pain, on Monday night, without the knowledge of everyone, she hanged herself with a rope in her bedroom.
The family members rescued her and rushed to Santhia Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared her dead. Nagdems UP Chairman Hafizur Rahman and UP member Abdul Quddus confirmed the incident and said that the girl was suffering from stomach pain for a long time. Santhia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Hossain confirmed the incident and said that a UD case has been filed in this regard.
