Chittagong University campus celebrated spring festival with colourful arrangements. On this occasion, a colourful joyous procession and cultural program was organized by the CU Music Department on Tuesday morning. Discussion meetings, cultural programs and colorful rallies were held at the CU open stage under the initiative of Udichi Shilpi Gosthi in Chittagong University Sangsad.
Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shireen Akhtar was present as the chief guest and CU Pro VC (Academic) Professor Benu Kumar Dey was present as the special guest.On the occasion of Basanta Utsav, the president of the organization Yusuf Muhammad presided over the discussion meeting organized by CU Sangsad of Udichi Shilpi Gosthi. Professor Siraj Ud Daullah, Dean of CU Faculty of Social Sciences, Rashed Hasan, Recitation Artist and Bangladesh Udichi Artists Group, Joint General Secretary, Pradip Ghosh spoke in it. The program was moderated by Partha Pratim Mahajan, General Secretary of Udichi Shilpi Gosthi in CU Sangsad.
CU VC said, Bengali is a joy and festival loving nation. Bengalis celebrate various festivals during most of the year. Since time immemorial, Bengalis have been celebrating these festivals with great enthusiasm.
Due to various reasons including the corona epidemic, these festivals were a little less recently, but now these festivals are back to their glory.
The Basanta Utsav organized by the Udichi Shilpi Gosthi is in the mood of the festival among all the students in the campus. Through this festival, generations of children will get an opportunity to be informed about the spring festival and the friendly relationship between them will be strengthened. She said, Udichi has endured many setbacks and left behind all kinds of dark and superstitions and is moving towards progress and beauty, will move forward and their activities will continue in the future.
The general students of the university, dressed colourfully and enthusiastically, spontaneously participated in other spring festival events held on the campus, including the music department and Udichi Shilpi Gosthi.
