Mirzapur Union Level National Primary Education Medal Competition was organised in Gazipur on Tuesday.
The day-long competition was held at the Dagari Government Primary School playground in Sadar Upazila from the morning. The students of eight primary schools of Mirzapur Union level competed in forty-three events including running competition, biscuit run, high jump, painting, dance, singing, act, extempore speech and story telling. Later, prizes were distributed among the participants.
Mohammad Habibur Rahman, president of Dagari Government Primary School Management Committee, managed the entire programme. Mirzapur Union Awami League leader Shariful Islam, Mirzapur Government Primary School Headteacher Monir Hossain, Dagari Government Primary School acting Headteacher Wahiduzzan Milon, Kazi Amirul Islam, Zakir Hossain Nahid, education enthusiast Zahidul Islam and others spoke on the occasion.
Sadar upazila assistant education officer Lutfunnesa presided over the programme. The competition was inaugurated by Moniruzzaman, co-opt member of the management council of Dagari Adarsh High School and member of sadar upazila Awami League.
The programme ended in a joyful atmosphere at Mirzapur Union of the district as part of the nationwide competition organized by the Directorate of Primary Education. The winners of the competition will later participate in the competition at the upazila level.
