The Women's T20 World Cup, originally set to take place in Bangladesh, has been relocated to the United Arab Emirates due to recent political upheavals and security concerns in Bangladesh. Despite the change in venue, Bangladesh remains the official host of the tournament.
In light of this, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, the Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Bangladesh Government, along with a delegation, visited the UAE to review the preparations for the event. The delegation included BCB Director Nazmul Abedin Fahim.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed this visit through their official Facebook page on Thursday. According to the BCB, "Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, along with a ministry delegation, recently inspected the ICC Cricket Academy's operations under the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). BCB Director Nazmul Abedin Fahim and officials from both the BCB and the ECB were present."
A post on Asif's verified Facebook page also highlighted his visit to Dubai, stating, "At the invitation of the BCB, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, inspected the facilities at the Dubai International Stadium and reviewed the overall preparations for the Women's World Cup."
This visit underscores the commitment of the Bangladesh Government and the BCB to ensure the successful hosting of the Women's T20 World Cup, despite the challenges posed by the relocation.
