The family members and hundreds of locals formed a human chain in front of Narayanganj Press Club on Bangabandhu road demanding rapid investigation and trial of Sharif murder case.
Sarif was hacked to death by criminals on April 1 in broad daylight near his residence under Fatulla model police station in the district.
The participants men and women in a united voice chanted slogan against the accused and mastermind of Sharif’s murder and castigated the role of the case investigator as all the FIR named accused have not been captured yet and slow movement of legal procedures.
The one and half hour long human chain and protest rally was presided over by slain Sharif’s father Alal Madbor while Sharif’s mother Rahima Begum delivered the vocal and fire brand speech.
Most of the participants were residents of Adarshanagar village and relatives of killed Sharif. Almost two hundred people upholding placard, festoons and banners insisted to complete the investigation within short time, the trial procedure to start and all accused to be awarded capital punishment.
Alal Madbor, father of killed Sharif claim that his only son was stabbed to death by the local drug peddler gang as well as a group of criminal associates who ran terrorism in the locality.
Rahima Begum, mother of Sharif, told the media that her innocent son who was helpful to the people and was a protestor of illicit activities was killed by the local criminal gang without any fault. She asked justice from the Prime Minister that the criminal who killed her son be hanged. If necessary, I will go to the Prime Minister’s office to seek speedy trial.
