Dhaka University (DU) has started accepting applications for special migration for first-year undergraduate students in the 2023-24 academic year. The application process began on Sunday, and will continue until October 25. This migration opportunity is available for students who are already admitted and wish to transfer to departments with vacant seats.
According to a notification on the university's admissions website, the special migration will cover vacant seats in certain departments within the arts, law, social sciences, and science units. Interested students can apply online between October 20, 4 p.m., and October 25. Those who have already submitted applications for migration do not need to apply again. The list of available seats by division will be published on the DU website.
The university recently completed a previous migration process on October 15, with results expected to be released on October 17. However, some departments still had vacant seats, prompting the university to launch this special migration process.
Students who successfully migrate will fill the remaining seats before the final subject nomination is made. After October 25, the vacant seats will be finalized, and students will be placed in their chosen departments based on availability.
This migration process gives students a second chance to secure a spot in their desired departments, ensuring that all available seats are filled efficiently.
