Special cleanliness crash programme in Ctg starts

A three-day-long special cleanliness operation programme of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) was started in Chattogram city on Sunday.

The operation started with cleaning the large drains along with the branch drains at Prabartak intersection under Chawkbazar in the city in the morning.

CCC Chief Conservancy Officer Commander Latiful Haque Kazmi said crash programmes will be held at two drains every day from today. Five officials of CCC, including its Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Mohammed Tauhidul Islam, are monitoring this operation. The special team is divided into two parts and 50 cleaners from the two adjacent wards are participating in this activity. The concerned zone officer is monitoring the matter.

The drains of Shulokbohor and Chawkbazar wards started the cleaning operation on Sunday. Workers of Purbo Sholoshohor ward and workers of Bagmoniram ward along with Chawkbazar ward joined the crash programme of Shulakbahar Ward. The crash programme started at 11:00am and ended at 3:00pm. The cleaning staff of other wards are joining this special crash program after completing their ward activities. The engineering department is providing mechanical support in the activities.

As a part of this program, the Katalganj area in front of the Buddhist temple in Chawkbazar ward no. 16 and in front of the container in Biplab Udyan Sholakbahar ward no. 8 near gate no. 2 will be cleaned on Monday. Large drains will be cleaned from Purbo Kattali ward no. 10 and from Sagarika intersection in Dakshina Kattali ward no. 11 towards the stadium and Alankar intersection of Pahartali ward no. 9 will be cleaned on Tuesday. The drain will be cleaned from Eklachhur Rahman Government Primary School premises towards Bahaddar Hat pond and from ward no. 7 towards Aturar Depot through Bibirhat on Wednesday.
