Speakers at a function in Rajshahi on the 154th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi have reiterated to end the Russia-Ukraine war immediately, otherwise, they said the entire world civilization would face disastrous consequences.
Bangladesh-India History Tradition Parishad organised the function entitled, ' Non-violence Philosophy on the backdrop of Civilisation Crisis' at Rajshahi Press Club on Monday afternoon. Presided over by Engineer Shasmul Alam, President of BIHTP, the function was attended, among others, by renowned Environmentalist Kazi Rakib Uddin, lifelong Member of RPC Golam Sarwar, Freedom Fighters Shahjahan Ali Borjahan, SM Kamruzzaman, Vice-President of Ataur Rahman Smriti Parisad Adv Sheraji Shaokat Salehin Elen, Salah Uddin Mintu, Sree Gurupada Sarker, BP Journalist Sarker Shariful Islam and President of Rajshahi Press Club Saidur Rahman.
Speakers at the function said, the prevailing crisis of civilisation should be removed by following the Non-violence Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. The politics of plundering, looting and violence should be countered by following the non-violent philosophy of Gandhi. They also called upon world leaders to take pragmatic steps to stop the Russia-Ukraine War immediately.
They further said, if the Russia-Ukraine war could not be stopped, it would engulf the entire civilisation in future.
