The land donated by father to a madrasah 33 years ago has been reoccupied allegedly by his son. The incident occurred at Paschim Kaludanga Daskhinpara Ebtedayee and Nurani Talimul Quran Madrasah under Gunaigach union of Ulipur.

Owner of the land Amin Uddin donated 5 (five) decimals of land for the construction of the madrasah.  But 33 years after the donation of the land, Rafiqul Islam (50), son of Amin Uddin is allegedly trying to reoccupy the donated land. Ashraful Alam, general secretary of the Madrasah Governing Body has filed a written complaint with Ulipur Police Station in this connection.

According to sources, the Paschim Kaludanaga Daskhinpara Ebtedayee and Nurani Talimul Quran Madrasah was established on the land of the mosque in 1975.  Later, Amin Uddin through the Deed Number 11104, donated five decimals of land for construction of the Madrasah on the land. Later, the madrasah land was separated from the mosque and the Madrasah building was built on the donated land.  Nearly 30 years after the death of Amin Uddin, his son Rafiqul Islam tried to reoccupy the donated land and attempted to construct a house inside the Madrasah land. Under such a situation, members of the Governing Body of the madrasah made a call to 999 when the police arrived at the scene and calmed everyone and assured them to settle the dispute by reviewing the documents related to the land.

Bijli Begum, a local housewife, informed she has been watching the Madrasah on the land for a long time. The local children study Quranic lessons in the Madrasah. Even her daughter Baby Naznin (20) also studied at the Madrasah. Now, she is married. After more than 20 years, it sounded weird when she learnt that the land of Madrasah belonged to another person.

Septuagenarian Belal Uddin informed the Madrasah has been running for a long time without any dispute but after the appearance of Police at the Madrasah, students are reluctant to attend the classes. As a result, the attendance of students at the Madrasah is very low.

Claimant of the land Rafiqul Islam in this connection informed, his father donated the land for the construction of the Ebtedayee Madrasah but no academic infrastructure has been constructed on the land for a long time. As a result, he had constructed a house on the land but the Madrasah Committee people demolished his house.

Officer-in-Charge of Ulipur Police Station Golam Murtuza informed, after receiving a call at 999 from the Madrasah Committee, police went to the spot and calmed both parties. Later, a case has been filed with the court claiming the ownership of the land.
