Workshops on Safe Sexual Behavior STD/AIDS among Adolescents are being conducted at district level. A workshop marking this matter was organized in the conference room of Munshiganj Civil Surgeon office around 11 o'clock on Thursday. The workshop was organized by Life Style District Education and Promotion, Health Education Bureau, Directorate of Health, Department of Health Services and Ministry of Family Welfare under the implementation of Munshiganj District Civil Surgeon Office.

The negotiators in the workshop said that there are three things to be aware of to prevent the spread of AIDS and STD (sexually transmitted diseases). That are: Safe sex, blood exchange and drainage. Speakers also said that many people from Bangladesh are tested for HIV before traveling abroad but are not tested when they return home. As a result, the number of AIDS patients is increasing day by day. It is also spreading due to disobedience of religious rules. Due to the rapid mutation of the virus, it was not possible to find a vaccine for the disease. So it is possible to stay healthy by taking medicine regularly. In 1989, the first patient infected with this virus was identified in Bangladesh. At present, the number of people infected with HIV virus in Bangladesh is 8761 and the number of people infected with HIV virus is 139 in Munshiganj.

As the number of people affected by this deadly virus is increasing day by day, the workshop emphasized that everyone should be aware so that spread of STD, AIDS and other diseases is reduced.
