If anyone is an expert at reliving old wounds, it is Zack Snyder. The director who is currently working with Netflix has just uploaded a previously unseen photo of his version of ‘Batman’ played by Ben Affleck. The seemingly innocent post has sparked a new social media campaign demanding the creation of a solo film of the knight from Gotham City.
This August 15 Ben Affleck turns 49 and to celebrate it, his friend Zack Snyder uploaded one of the first photos in which the actor wore that suit with which we saw him debut in ‘Batman V Superman’. At that time the actor just turned 41 years old and we are all waiting with hope for the new DC Comics universe in theaters.
Taking advantage of Ben Affleck’s birthday and Zack Snyder’s photo, fans created the #MakeTheBatfleckMovie campaign to somehow “put pressure” inside Warner Bros and make it clear to them where they want the DCEU canon to go.
So far the only ones who have not given up on Zack Snyder’s vision of DC superheroes are the fans, as it is known that the director himself has dropped the topic and continued his Netflix career while Affleck has avoided talking about it. The actor’s last appearance as ‘Batman’ would be in ‘The Flash’ where a reboot is expected to eliminate everything we saw in these 8 years.
Warner Bros and the new executives in charge are delighted with the vision that James Gunn has delivered and he’s been given more DCEU projects to head up. Could it be that they will cut more budget for a last movie of Ben Affleck’s ‘Batman’? —Mind Life TV
