There have been incidents of smugglers attacking BGB personnel, vandalizing vehicles and snatching accused in Cumilla city. The attack took place in Shasnagachha area on Tuesday night.
In this case, under 10 BGB BOP Habildar Ibn Mizan filed a case with the Kotwali Model Police Station on Wednesday. In the case, 8 persons were declared as declarative and 10-15 as anonymous accused.
It has been alleged in the case that during the patrol at the BGB border, the operation was carried out in the Shasnagachha rail gate area of the city The operation was led by Cumilla Deputy Commissioner's Office Executive Magistrate Kaniz Fatema.
At that time, the accused Asma Begum and her husband Kamal Hossain tried to escape by dropping two paper cartons after sensing the presence of BGB Kamal was arrested and Asma escaped. A search of the two cartons turned up 1728 pieces of Indian chocolate.
Later, Saddam, Azad, Rubel, Khuki, Md. Alo, Md. Hossain and 10-15 other unidentified persons came to the spot, hurled bricks and batons, vandalized the BGB government vehicle (Comilla-Thha, 11-0052) and snatched the arrested accused Kamal.
Upon receiving the news, Kotwali Model Police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. Police OC (Investigation) Kamal Krishna Dhar said the BGB had filed a case in the incident. Attempts are being made to arrest the accused.
