Detective ranch (DB) police in Jhenaidah have seized six kilograms of silver ornament and arrested a smuggler from a village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila. The drive was conducted by inspector Nazrul Islam in the morning of Sunday.
The arrested was identified as Sumon Hossain, 22, son of Abul Bashar of Karpashdanga village in Chuadanga Sadar upazila.
Jhenaidah DB police officer in charge Anwar Hossain said, a contingent of DB police led by inspector Nazrul Islam set up a check post at Bankira village in Jhenaidah Sadar acting on a tip off.

They stopped an easy bike marching towards Jhenaidah town. The driver Sumon Hossain sensing the police checkpost, started fleeing faster.
The policemen arrested him with six kilograms of silver ornaments from the passengers’ seat of the three wheeler.
The arrested confessed that he was carrying the silver ornament for smuggling purposes.
DB police OC said they had filed a case with Jhenaidah Sadar police station and sent the arrested to the court for next legal proceedings.
