Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a gold smuggler with 1 KG gold bar, worth Tk 45 lakhs from Gatipara border area under Benapole Port Police Station on Friday morning. The arrestee was identified as Kamal Hossain, 40, son of Nowser Ali at Daulotpur village in Benapole Port police station.
BGB-49 Battalion Commanding Officer, Lt Col Salim Reja said, acting on a tip-off, BGB members conducted a drive in gatipara border area and arrested a gold smuggler with the 1 Kg gold bar. The gold bar was deposited in the Benapole customs godown. A case was filed with this connection at Benapole Port Police station.
