The district administration has taken the initiative to launch smart school buses in Chattogram. 10 school buses plying on different routes in the city will be made smart by adding state-of-the-art 'smart digital devices'. District administration officials said that the work of making school buses 'smart' will be completed within the next one and a half to two months.
According to district administration sources, a smart card will be given to the students in the smart bus. They will show it on the digital attendance device in the bus while boarding and alighting the bus. This will automatically send a small message to their parent saying 'Your child has got on/off the bus'.
The card given to the students can be recharged. The rent will be automatically deducted from there. However, the fare has not yet been determined but will be within 10 rupees. The IP camera address of the bus will be given to the parents. Parents can see their children on the bus themselves.
Considering schools and roads, these 10 buses are plying on the route from Bahaddarhat-Muradpur to Newmarket via Chowkbazar-Gani Bakery-Jamalkhan-Cheragi Pahar-Andarkilla-Laldighi Kotwali and from Oxygen to Muradpur-2 No. gate-GEC-Tigerpass to Agrabad. However, there are several schools in Halisahar, Barapole, EPZ and Mohra areas of the city, but no school buses ply there. Smart buses will also run on the same route initially.
Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman said that the Chattogram district administration is working tirelessly to build the vision of the Honorable Prime Minister 'Smart Bangladesh'. The initiative to make school buses 'smart' is one of those efforts. We have already started the app development work. I had a meeting with the concerned people. After installing all the equipment, we hope that 'smart' school buses will be launched in Chattogram in the next one and a half to two months.
He said that parents do not want to leave their children to school alone as the public transport system is not safe. came to school with Their time is wasted. Work is disrupted. If the 'smart' school bus is introduced, the worries of the parents will be removed. The purpose of smart buses is to make the journey of students safer. It will help in reducing the suffering of parents, decongesting traffic and preventing accidents.
