‘Skilled manpower to build developed country’

Engineer Mohammad Shafique Uddin, Managing Director of West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL), has said according to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s mission and vision, Bangladesh will become a developed country. To implement her mission and vision, there is no alternative way without skilled manpower. WZPDCL is working to develop skill manpower in power sector. 

He said while a closing ceremony of ‘Consumer electrician trade course’ at WZPDCL’s training institute in Khulna on Tuesday.

Power division has taken a five years training program to create skilled manpower during the ‘Mujib Year’ and for the next four years in the electrical workforce. As part of this plan WZPDCL will arrange 27 batch with 2 months duration within 5 years. Total 810 peoples will get free training by this program. 

WZPDCL has already completed its first batch training program. After completed of the training program, WZPDCL distributed free tools box and certificate among the trainees in the ceremony. Shafique Uddin was chief guest there. 

He said currently electronic device like as TV, Refrigerator, Rice cooker and AC has already reached in rural areas. Consumer electrician trade course is very essential to maintenance the devices. For this reason WZPDCL has arranged the course, which will help to develop skilled manpower in the country. 

Mohammad Helal Uddin, DC of Khulna was special guest at the function presided over Shaheen Akhter, executive engineer of WZPDCL’s training institute.

Among others Khulna Press Club Secretary Mohammad Saheb Ali, WZPDCL’s Chief Engineer Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, Company Secretary Abdul Motaleb, Manager (Administration) Mohammad Nazmul Huda, Executive Engineer Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain and Engineer Mohammad Khosrul Islam were also present in the ceremony.
