6 members of dope gang along with powder used for unconsciousness and medicine mixing juice were arrested by Chuadanga Police from different areas of the district in last five days.
The detainees are Bachhu Majhi, son of Kashem Majhi of Dakkhin Rajapur village under Sharankhula upazila of Bagerhat, Hashem Ali, son of Golapmondal of Dudhpatila village in Damurhuda Thana of Chuadanga district, Salamat, son of Roich Uddin of Iswachandrapur village in Darshana Thana of Chuadanga district, Shahabuddin, son of Billal Hossain of Boalmary village in sadar upazila of Chuadanga district, Ibrahim alias Ibra, son of Ismail Hossain of Sontospur village in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district and Abdur Razzak, son of Noushad Mondal of Mregmari village in Jibannagar thana of Chuadanga district.
Nazim Uddin Al Azad, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operation) disclosed the matter at a press briefing on Saturday.
The police official said there are 11 cattle markets (haats) in the district. Businessmen, cattle farm owners and farmers rushed to the haats for selling their cattle on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. So, police personnel remained alert to save them from dope gang members. Police personnel were deployed at haats and other points in civil dresses and uniform providing new techniques as trap for holding members of dope gang. The members of dope gang were caught following the new technique of police.
