Six die, 269 others infected in Ctg

Coronavirus has been detected among 269 patients by testing 856 samples in five labs in Chittagong including in the lab of Cox's Bazar during last 24-hour. 

Six people including a doctor died in Coronavirus infection during the same period in the district while 40 were cured back to homes. 

The information was revealed by the Civil Surgeon's Office here on Sunday afternoon. Sadekur Rahman (65), a Physician died of breathing complications at a hospital in Agrabad on Sunday morning.

Dr. Sadequr Rahman (65) had been working as an Ultrasonologist in a hospital run by Red Crescent in Chittagong. He was a student of 17th batch of Chittagong Medical College. He died while undergoing treatment in ICU.

Chittagong University Lab tested 29 samples out of which 26 were found positive, BITID Lab 232 tested samples of which 41 were found positive, In Chittagong Medical College Lab 301 sample were tested of which 111 were found positive, In Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Science University Lab 153 samples were tested of which 45 found positive, Private Imperial 

Hospital Lab tested 126 samples of which 56 were found positive and in Cox's Bazar Medical College Lab 12 samples were tested where two results were found positive. 

Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said 269 corona cases have been reported in Chittagong during the last 24-hour. Of these, 208 are in the city areas and 61 in different Upazilas. During the same tine six Cornoravirus patients died and 40 returned home from the hospital after being cured.
