Six Bangladeshis win trip to Russia

Rosatom State Corporation of Russia announces the winners of the Global Atomic Quiz 2021, an international awareness initiative. The day-long online quiz was held on November 10 commemorating World Science Day.

This year a total of 18 winners were selected from Bangladesh, Russia, Hungary, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Cambodia. The full list of winners is available at the project website: quiz.atomforyou.com. Over 11,000 nuclear enthusiasts from more than 70 countries participated in the quiz.

Participants were challenged to test their knowledge on the basic concepts of nuclear physics and the latest achievements in nuclear technologies. 

The questions’ difficulty varied for two categories for Young Enthusiasts (age from 11-16) and Adults (17+). The winners were selected using a random number generator among the finalists, who met all the requirements of the competition in each category and answered all the questions of the quiz correctly.

In 11-16 age group Md. Esrak Ahammod Sayem from Bangladesh won trip to Russia/ other foreign country to participate in one of the shifts of the Rosatom Smart Holidays international camps. Imtiaz Hussain and Nure Alam Sakib won the opportunity to visit one of the modern Russian nuclear power plants, while Md. Fuad Hasibul Hasan, Md. Azmal Hossain and Fateh Mahmood won special prize, reserved for young nuclear professionals, who will participate in International Youth Nuclear Congress (IYNC 2022) in Sochi, Russia. All prizes will be awarded in 2022.

Global Atomic Quiz is Rosatom’s annual one-day international initiative, which seeks to underline the importance of nuclear science in improving our daily lives and highlights the role it plays in making our presence on this fragile planet more sustainable.
