The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) has arrested six suspects for their involvement in multiple shootings and terrorist activities in Chattogram.

The arrested individuals, who are the main suspects in the murder of Babla, are Ishtiaq Chowdhury alias Ovi, Md. Alauddin, Md. Helal (40), Md. Arman Ali Raj (27), Md. Johnny (38), and Mahmudul Haque Jackie (35).

RAB-7 officials stated that the suspects are accused of involvement in recent incidents of terror and multiple shootings in Raozan upazila. The battalion confirmed the arrests in a press release on Friday morning, noting that the six, including Ovi, were apprehended during raids in different areas of Chittagong city.

According to RAB-7 sources, based on information that Md. Alauddin and Helal (40)—accused in the Sarwar Hossain Babla murder case—were staying in the Hazirpul area under Chandgaon police station, an operation team conducted a raid there at 7 am on November 7 and arrested them.

RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director Mozaffar Hossain said the individuals were arrested on charges of being directly involved in the recent violence. They are implicated in the murder of Sarwar Hossain Babla, the attack on Ershad Ullah, the shooting of Mohammad Idris, and other ongoing terrorist activities in Raozan.

Mozaffar Hossain added that Md. Arman Ali Raj, the terrorist who shot and injured rickshaw puller Md. Idris, was arrested from the Raufabad residential area under Bayezid Bostami police station at Friday midnight.

Legal proceedings are underway against the arrested individuals.
