‘Silk Road: China to Europe’ Food Festival held in Chittagong

A diverse food festival has started at the Laguna Restaurant in The Peninsula Chittagong, the star hotel of the city, with a large variety of food menu from Indian to Chinese, Italian to Lebanese and European.

 The 7-day A Food Festival, titled 'Silk Road: China to Europe', opened on Thursday night with the largest buffet in the city to give local and foreign guests a taste of the food of different flavors.

 Mahbubul Alam, President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, inaugurated the food fest as the chief guest.  Special guests were Ranks FC Limited CEO Tanvir Shahriar Rimon and important personalities of the city.

 The Peninsula Chittagong has always been introducing guests to the diverse local and international cuisine.

 This time Peninsular has organized a food festival titled Silk Road: China to Europe under the supervision of new executive chef Rasika Birsingh.  The 7-day Feast of the Dinner with over 100 menu buffets will feature all exceptional food from Asia and Europe, including Indian, Chinese, Italian, Lebanese.

 The Food Fest in particular will be able to introduce local and foreign guests to the international food culture as well as experience the delicious and exceptional taste.

 Peninsular's newly joined executive chef Rasika is from Sri Lanka.  Chef Rasika, an experienced chef for over 20 years, has been instrumental in the international food culture.  He has made an outstanding contribution to the culinary industry internationally.  Rasika has won multiple gold medals in various live cooking competitions.

 According to Chef Rasika, it is important to understand the local culture, people and tastes of their food when preparing any food menu.  It is my responsibility to cater to the tastes of the guests by considering the traditional taste of local food.  So that the guests can remember the taste and aroma of this food and come back to us again and again with the taste of this food.
