The crime thriller "Shaan," directed by M Rahim and starring Siam Ahmed and Puja Cherry, is getting a new name for its Indian release. Originally launched during Eid-ul-Fitr 2022, "Shaan" did well in theaters and on streaming platforms. It will debut on Indian television as "Arjun: The Super Cop" on Zee Bangla Cinema, airing on November 10.
This name change has surprised many viewers. After a teaser was shared on Zee Bangla Cinema's Facebook page, fans expressed confusion in the comments. Many questioned why the title "Shaan" was changed to "Arjun: The Super Cop."
Along with the title, the voices of the characters have been altered. Instead of Siam and Puja, Indian voice actors from West Bengal will provide the dubbing. Director M Rahim commented on the situation, stating that the production company and distributor would know more about the decision. He mentioned that the film was previously dubbed in Hindi and Tamil, but he is unsure about the Bengali version.
Actor Siam Ahmed also shared his thoughts on the title change. He expressed surprise at "Shaan" being renamed "Arjun." He explained that the rights to "Shaan" were sold in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Siam believes this change might help the film reach a larger Indian audience, although he noted that there could be complexities related to the title.
In addition to "Arjun: The Super Cop," Siam is set to appear in another film titled "Jongli," also directed by M Rahim. Siam stars alongside Shobnom Bubly and Prarthana Fardin Dighi, with an official release date expected next month.
