Godagari police recovered the dead body of an SI of Police from Biwanathpur Kazipara area beside Godagari-Amnura highway around 12-30 AM Saturday. The deceased was identified as Nur Islam (40), an SI working under Chapainawabganj sadar PS. According sources local people saw the dead body of a police official lying beside the highway at Kazipara area and informed police. Godagari police rushed to the spot and sent the dead body to the morgue of RMCH for autopsy.
Kamrul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Godagari police station informed, the motor bike of deceased SI was also lying beside the road and the helmet on his head was broken which indicates the motor bike of SI Nur Islam was at first hit by any moving vehicle and then he was hit by a roadside tree by losing balance. His helmet on the head was broken and he died by being hit on the head.
However, police was not sure how SI Nur Islam died and the investigation is continuing in this connection.
Deceased SI was a resident of Avoynagar upazila of Jashore district. He was on leave and it was not known where he was going at dead night, informed OC of Godagari.
