Students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Thursday staged demonstration on Dhaka-Aricha highway adjacent to the university main gate protesting the murder of senior ASP Anisul Karim Shipon.
Many former and present students of the university participated at the human chain. The protesters demanded a proper investigation and the exemplary punishment of the murderers.
Addressing the programme, Prof Dr Mohammad Alamgir Kabir, Director of Teacher-Student Centre JU said, “The video footage clearly shows that Shipon was killed in a premeditated manner. Police have already been identified the slayers. The murderers should be given exemplary punishment through trial in a very short time.
Otherwise, the Jahangirnagar University family will be forced to take the streets to demand justice.’
Mentionable, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anisul Karim Shipon was a student of Jahangirnagar University of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department (33rd batch) and was murdered at Mind Aid Hospital in the capital’s Adabar on Monday.
