A general secretary of Awami League, died of Corona in Chaugacha Upazila of Jashore district on Friday morning in a hospital of Khulna.
He was the general secretary of Singhjhuli Union Awami League.
According to the locals, Hafizur Rahman Nipu, 65 a resident of Singhajhuli village, was suffering from fever and cold a week ago. In this condition he took treatment on the advice of a local doctor.
When his condition deteriorated on Thursday night, he was rushed to Khulna for treatment. Family members also admitted him to a hospital there. Nipu died at the hospital around 6 am on Friday.
The body has been brought to Singhajhuli village home.

Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Lutfunnahar said, Careful burial has been instructed. At the end of the burial, everyone in the family was asked to test the corona.
In Chougachha upazila, seven people have tested positive for corona in the last one week.
The victims are being treated at their respective homes on the advice of doctors. Three of them have recovered.
