Sheikh Kamal Bangladesh Games to kick off in December

The second edition of Shahid Sheikh Kamal Bangladesh Games, the biggest sports carnival of the country is expected to kick off from the last week of December, 2022.

Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) have already sketched an initial plan to start the preliminary stage, the Upazila level competition from December, the District level from January and the divisional and the the final phase will be held at the first week and from third week of February respectively the biggest sports program in Bangladesh. 

The organisers is highly expected that the country’s biggest sports showcase will be opened by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the younger brother of Shahid Sheikh Kamal, the pioneer of the modern sports organiser of Bangladesh.

A reliable sources of BOA informed the Bangladesh Post on Tuesday.

The sources said, ‘‘We have already started our paper works and chalked out a preliminary schedules to initiate the the sports extravaganza of the country.’’         

‘‘We are expecting to kick off the Upazila level competitions from the last week of December, the District level from January and the divisional and planned to stage the final phase in February,’’ said the sources.’’

‘‘The upazila champions will move into the district level and the district champions will qualify to compete in the divisional phase when the divisional winners will participate in the final phase,’’ the sources informed the Bangladesh Post.

The sources also informed that the competition will kick off at all 64 district simultaneously when a meeting of the co-ordinators have already been held where they drew out the planning.

‘‘Actually we have made the approximate schedule to organise the second edition of Bangladesh Games, the biggest sports program, participated by the athletes from grass roots of across the country,’’ said the sources.
