Sheikh Jamal hope for title

Three-time champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club hope, they will win the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The Yellow Fear will fight to win the league title and predicts for unbeaten in the second phase in BPL, which will kick off on April 8.

The BPL first phase completed on Sunday with the last match of round 13 between Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Mohammedan Sporting Club at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. 

SK Jamal collected 26 points in 12 games, won seven, and ended with draws five outings.  The Dhanmondi outfit now is in the second place in the 13-team points table.  Shafiqul Islam Manik sides are less than eight points from the league leaders Bashundhara Kings, who bagged 34 points from the same number of outings.    

SK Jamal netted 31 goals conceded 16, in this season. 

SK Jamal Coach Shafiqul Islam Manik said, “We hope to win the league title. It’s our first priority. Every players of the team will try his level best for the title. We became champion in 2014-15 seasons, six years passed by. So, we have no alternative way.”

Coach further informed that the second phase will be very crucial and it would be very challenging to stay unbeaten position in the league. 

“We made a lot of mistake in the first round. Especially we shared the points from five games, so, we must take a good lesson from those proceedings. We must remember that the defending champions Bashundhara Kings now in top position and they are now in good form. It will not be easy task to beat them. We will never take lightly any opposition side,” he added.
