Sheikh Hasina’s 73th birthday observed across the country

The 73th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also the President of ruling Awami League was celebrated across the country on Saturday with due solemnity, fervour and ceremony.

On September 28 in 1947, Sheikh Hasina, the eldest of the five children of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Begum Fazilatunnesa, was born at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

Like previous years, Awami League and other organisations celebrated the day through holding various programames. 

In Rajshahi, to mark this auspicious day, leaders and activists of Rajshahi district Awami League released hundreds of baloon-lanterns of different colours at the bank of Padma River, specially, at city’s Lalan Shah Stage at 12:01 am, reports our Rajshahi Correspondent.

President of Rajshahi district Awami League and MP from Rajshahi-1 constituency Omor Faruk Chowdhury inaugurated the baloon-lantern release programme.

Meanwhile, Rajshahi city Awami League leaders placed floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu. The programme was led by President of Rajshahi city AL and Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton. Later milad and doa were organised seeking further progress and welfare of Sheikh Hasina and the country and blessings of departed soul of martyred Father of the Nation at the Kumarpara party office.

On the other hand, the Awami League brought out a colourful rally in the city to mark the occasion.

In Faridpur, Asia Chhinnamul Manobadhikar Bastobayon Foundation arranged a discussion at hall room of Faridpur Zila Parishad marking Sheikh Hasina’s birthday, reports our Faridpur Correspondent.

Central chairman of the organisaiton Md Dulal Mia attended the function as the chief guest with its district unit president Shahadat Shikder in the chair. Later, the guests of the function cut a birthday cake. In Jashore, leaders and workers of Awami League and its front bodies observed the PM’s birthday at Keshabpur upazila in the district by holding various programmes, reports our Keshabpur Correspondent.

On the occasion, a discussion and doa mahfil was held at the party office in the upazila. The party men cut a cake at the event. Member of Jashore Zila Parishad Hasan Sadek, UP chairman Abdus Samad Master and many others were present at the event. Later, special munajat was offered seeking further progress and welfare of Sheikh Hasina.
