A function was held on the premises of Majeda Hospital in Shariatpur on Monday marking the 83rd birthday of former Deputy Speaker Col (retd) Shawkat Ali. His birthday was celebrated amid a festive mood. Chairman of 71 Foundation Dr Khaled Shawkat Ali presided the programme in Shariatpur. At that time, activists of the organization, district and local freedom fighters cut a cake and greeted Shawkat Ali by handing over bouquets. Later, a cultural programme and painting competition was held in the area.
